The Great American Boy Competition began as a summer replacement series ten years ago, but has turned into an entertainment juggernaut - the most popular piece of American media produced in this century. Each episode fills four to six hours on a Thursday night and year after year the competition completely controls the bandwidth for that night of the week.

Nowadays the Great ABC, as it's come to be known, is nonstop. There are three 16-week series per year, with retrospective shows filling in the remaining weeks. The show producers are constantly scouring the country for contestants and they're able to choose from among thousands of hunky young hopefuls.

In the early days of entertainment, when viewers still watched television sets rather than being plugged-in and online wherever they were, there were contests between attractive young guys with hard bodies. Once slavery was re-introduced into society - especially sexual slavery for handsome young hunks - the Great ABC became a natural outgrowth of everything that went before.

The sixteen contestants in each competition are always 18-year-old boys, usually high school seniors or recent graduates. They are chosen for their handsome faces and finely-chiseled athletic bodies, as well as physical prowess and competitive spirit. Of course each potential contestant undergoes a brain scan - the producer's policy is only to include boys who are completely heterosexual and who have never before had any sort of same-sex experience.

One of the sixteen boys in each competition wins $50,000,000 at the end of the game. But each week, whichever boy is in last place, gets stripped, prepared for enslavement, and auctioned on live webcast. Each week audiences are also treated to footage of former contestants being deflowered by their new owners as well as updates on old favorites.

This week's episode starts off with six remaining contestants, but will end with only five boys still in competition for the $50-million grand prize. After ten weeks of seeing their faces and bodies beamed onto screens, monitors, watchfaces and just about any flat surface, these boys are more familiar to most Americans than their own sons and brothers. But let's have a quick look at who remains in the competition.

"Let's begin with Anthony!" Cut to footage of a black-haired Italian youth with a broken nose. Anthony is short but with very broad shoulders and a developed chest he's built like a bulldog. He is seen in an amateur boxing match and then seen doing chin-ups shirtless. Anthony's voice over explains, "All I want is to marry my girlfriend Angela and have a good life. But the odds are high that a guy like me from my neighborhood would end up indentured. If I'm gonna go up against those odds I might as well do it in a way that could set me up filthy rich." Cut to footage of Anthony with his arm around a very pretty Italian girl who is wearing a low-cut blouse as his voice continues, "I'm tough and I'm used to winning. I'm in this thing to win."

The announcer's voice comes back in, "Anthony is a tough competitor and has proven himself, especially in strength challenges. He has two first place finishes so far. Next we have a great audience favorite, Billy!" Cut to a very good-looking all-American boy with longish honey blond hair. He is shirtless and playing a pick-up football game in the park - his skin is flawless and his body is beautifully formed. Then we see Billy doing sit-ups, while his younger brothers hold down his legs. His voice over has a soft Iowa accent. "I always did pretty good in school, but there's no way my folks can afford to send me or any of my brothers to college. I know I'm taking an awful big risk, but I believe in America and I believe in my family, and I surely do believe in the Ultimate American Boy Challenge."

The announcer continues, "Billy has been in the top-three finishers in every one of our competitions. He has come in first place four times. I understand the online betting sites are giving odds on Billy winning the entire challenge. But, our audience knows that the unexpected happens. Speaking of the unexpected, we still have Clay in the competition."

Cut to a slim very cute boy with auburn hair. He is shirtless and smiling as he washes the family car. Clay does not have big muscles or even cut abs like the other competitors, but he has the prettiest face. His voice over is almost self-effacing. "I'm not fooling myself. I know I'm a long-shot. I know that every season Ultimate ABC includes one guy who's a little more boyish than the others, and generally he's knocked out of the contest in the first couple of weeks. But heck, ever since I was twelve my daddy's been telling me that I'm the pretty one out of the four brothers so I'd be the one he'd eventually have to sell. So I might as well take my chances in this competition."

The announcer explains, "Clay is the only one of the remaining contestants who has never had a first place finish. There've been a few times when he's been right at the end, but just managed to stay out of last place. But as you know it's only the last place boy who gets auctioned." With renewed vigor the announcer changes gears to say, "Diego is certainly a determined competitor."

Cut to a black-haired, intense-looking boy in a Speedo as he prepares for a complicated dive. His body is poetry in motion as he twists and somersaults into a pool. Then we see Diego swimming before cutting to him doing shirtless Yoga exercises and the camera lingers on his eight-pack abs. Diego's voice over, "I not only have the strength and muscles that the other boys here have, but I've got the concentration and the discipline. In addition I have the grades and the brains to become a doctor, but everything is now riding on me winning Ultimate ABC. Losing is not an option."

"Diego has two first place wins and, like Bobby, he has never finished below the top three," the announcer explains. "Then we have our resident bad boy Eric."

Cut to a wiry boy with sloppy reddish-blond hair and rippling abdominals working on a car, shirtless. Then we cut to Eric doing one-handed push ups as his voice over says, "Look, I been in and out of trouble since I was eleven. The only things I was ever good at were running and fighting and playing any kind of sports better than anybody else. I figured there's too much chance I'd end up enslaved, so I'd take my chances on Ultimate ABC."

The announcer comes back in to say, "You've got to hand it to Eric - he's tough. He finished in first place one time and even when his chances were looking pretty bleak, he ended up pulling ahead and staying in the competition. Our last competitor, Ford, is one of the most determined boys we've seen in our games."

Cut to Ford working out with weights. He has a handsome face and close-cropped brown hair; his muscles ripple. "My oldest brother went into this competition eight years ago. He was strong and tough but he had a freak accident and lost the very first week. I'm here to win this. I'm winning it for my former brother, for my family, and for me."

The announcer explains, "Eight years ago when Ford's brother was in the competition, the families never got anything from the enslavements. Since then the producers of Ultimate ABC have generously chosen to give families 5% of the sale price for their sons who lose the competition. Since no boy has sold for less than a million dollars since our first season, that means every family will get at least $50,000 if they lose their son in Ultimate ABC."

Cut to the six remaining contestants lined up each now wearing the "free boy underpants" he wore at the start of the competition. As the current crop of contestants limber up, the two announcers discuss tonight's challenge. There is footage behind them from one of the first Ultimate ABC series. "People sometimes ask why we don't simply have hand-to-hand combat. Those of you old enough to remember may recall that on the first two seasons of Ultimate ABC we included some mixed martial arts battles. But that ended with the finale of season two and this now-famous piece of footage." We watch two very handsome young hunks struggling together on the mat of an octagonal ring, and then there is a snapping sound. Skip winces and says, "Like everyone else I've probably seen that moment a hundred times but it still gives me a chill."

The announcers continue their moment-by-moment commentary on the progress of the competitors. Billy is the last one in the water.
